This genuine Heat-Glo replacement part is a 750 millivolt thermopile and is used as a flame rectification sensor for the various fireplace models that are listed below. The thermopile generates a voltage when exposed to heat, so by mounting it in a location in the fireplace where it is exposed to the flame, it will cut the gas supply to the unit should the pilot flame be extinguished.
